Our story started with one clear need
LED Frames Mirror began in 2011 in Pinetown, Durban, with a simple idea: bathroom mirrors should do more than reflect light from a ceiling fitting. They should help a person get ready properly, handle moisture, and make daily routines easier whether it is an early school run, a guest bathroom update, or a full home renovation.
Over the years, we have grown from local work in Pinetown and Westville into bathroom fit-outs across Durban North, Umhlanga, Ballito, Hillcrest and beyond. We now support homeowners, interior designers, builders and project managers across South Africa, but our way of working has stayed the same. We measure carefully, advise honestly and install with attention to the small details that matter in a wet room.
Our managing director, Sibusiso Nxumalo, leads a team that understands both the technical and visual side of mirror work. Ayesha Naidoo handles sales enquiries, Lungile Mthembu keeps operations moving, Johan van Rensburg leads installations, Nokuthula Dlamini supports design choices and Calvin Petersen assists with technical issues. That mix helps us keep things practical from first call to final handover.
What we believe a mirror should do
We work with the view that a good mirror must earn its place. It should suit the room size, stand up to humidity, give proper task lighting and sit neatly with the vanity, tiles and sanitaryware. In coastal areas like Durban, Umhlanga and Ballito, we also pay close attention to condensation, corrosion risk and safe electrical detailing.
Our values are straightforward. We want products that last, service that is clear, and installations that do not create headaches later. That means checking wall conditions, confirming power points, planning for load shedding where backup supply may be used, and making sure the mirror suits the everyday routine of the people who will use it. We would rather advise against a poor fit than push a product that looks good on day one but causes trouble later.
- Accuracy matters, from the first site measure to the final alignment.
- Bathrooms need practical lighting, not just decorative light.
- Good work should be neat, safe and easy to maintain.
- Honest advice saves time and money on the job.
How we work on homes and projects
Every job starts with a proper conversation. For some clients, that means one replacement mirror in a family bathroom. For others, it means a package for several units in a townhouse development or a bulk supply order for a contractor. We listen first, then recommend sizes, lighting positions and finishing details that suit the space.
Site measurements are a key part of our process. Bathrooms are rarely perfect rectangles, and a few millimetres can affect whether a mirror clears a tap, shaving cabinet, tile line or niche. We check height, width, power access and surrounding finishes before anything goes ahead. Where electrical connection is needed, we plan the work carefully and keep safety in mind. If a client needs vanity upgrades or mirror replacement, we work around the existing room with as little disruption as possible.
- Site measurements for new builds, renovations and replacements.
- Mirror installation that is tidy and secure.
- Electrical connection arranged with safety and access in mind.
- Bulk project supply for builders, developers and design teams.
- Aftercare support for repairs, servicing and follow-up questions.
Designed for Durban conditions, built for daily use
Bathrooms in KwaZulu-Natal face some hard conditions. Coastal humidity can affect fittings, steam builds up quickly after showers, and many homes are managing power interruptions while trying to keep a morning routine on track. We keep all of that in mind when helping clients choose LED mirrors, demister options and component layouts.
Our work is not just about appearance. It is about making sure the mirror functions properly in the real world. That can mean advising on LED component repairs rather than full replacement, checking whether a demister needs servicing, or suggesting a custom design that suits a narrow wall or an unusual vanity width. We also help with bathroom fit-outs where the mirror must sit alongside new cabinets, updated lighting and fresh finishes. A good fit here is one that still works after months of steam, cleaning and everyday use.
Clients in Pinetown, Durban North, Umhlanga, Ballito, Hillcrest and Westville often need the same thing: a solution that looks smart and behaves well over time. That is the standard we work to, and it shows in the way we specify, install and support each mirror.
A team that keeps the details tight
Our team structure helps us stay organised and responsive. Sibusiso Nxumalo oversees the business and client direction, while Ayesha Naidoo manages sales communication and quotations. Lungile Mthembu coordinates operations, Johan van Rensburg leads the installation side, Nokuthula Dlamini helps with design decisions and Calvin Petersen handles technical support where components, wiring or controls need attention. We are a small enough team to remain hands-on, but wide enough to manage a steady mix of household and project work.
That matters when deadlines are tight. Interior designers often need clear lead times and dependable delivery. Homeowners want to know who will arrive, what the job involves and how long it will take. Contractors want a supplier who can keep pace with the sequence on site. We try to answer those questions early, then keep the communication moving until the job is done. It is not fancy, just proper service.
- Clear quotes and realistic lead times.
- Direct communication with the right person for the job.
- Practical support for designers, builders and private clients.
- Careful handover so the mirror is ready for everyday use.
Why clients keep coming back
Many of our repeat clients come back because the experience is steady from start to finish. They know we will measure properly, explain the options in plain language and give attention to the final finish. They also know we can support the product after installation, whether that means a demister check, a component repair or advice on replacement if a room is being remodelled later on.
We also value long-term working relationships. A bathroom project rarely sits alone. It links to tiling, plumbing, electrical work, cabinetry and painting, so the mirror has to fit into a bigger plan. Our aim is to make that part easier for everyone involved. From a single home in Pinetown to a multi-unit project elsewhere in South Africa, we bring the same approach: measure carefully, work neatly and leave the space in good order. That is what practical quality looks like to us.
If you are planning a bathroom update, vanity upgrade or mirror replacement, LED Frames Mirror is ready to help with clear advice and hands-on support from our Durban base.
